Borrowing Too Little?

There’s a fascinating post from David Andolfatto of the St. Louis Fed I want to draw to your attention. The comments are genuinely worth reading. Is it possible that the Treasury is not selling enough bonds? Is it the case?

    If low interest rates were due to worldwide “safe haven” securities demand then why would the Fed be buying them? Seems the only way to determine that is for the Fed to stop, and see if foreign investors sop them up.
