Rahm is a politician. The guiding principle of politicians is expediency. It was expedient for him to act the way he did when he was mayor. It was the city’s fault for not responding correctly to his policies. The populace failed him. Now that he’s out of power, he can act sane and sensible again. He doesn’t get a s**t if the woke crowd boos him for it. He’s out of the rat race. He’s made his millions and will make even more doing what he’s doing now; pontificating.
Who knows, maybe his statesmanlike pose he’s holding now means he’s eyeing a Presidential run in 2024 (his disasters as mayor are too recent for him to take a worthwhile shot at 2020).
I understand he’s fairly recently had a kidney transplant, maybe he has had a
“Road to Damascus “moment.
Lot of them are better once out of office.
