Take a look at this lengthy and excellent presentation on our fiscal conundrum over at Business Insider. It goes some way to explaining why I believe as I do, namely that we both need to return tax rates to what they were in 2000 and cut spending, which inevitably means cutting military and healthcare spending.
I wish the presentation were as complete on the spending side as it is on the revenue side but I guess if it had it would have run to a hundred slides.
