Well, that’s not exactly the way I’d planned on spending the evening. Just as we were bringing the dogs in for their dinners this evening my wife fell and injured herself. Swollen ankle, trip to the emergency room, wait, wait, wait, X-ray, wait, wait, wait, visit from doc, just a sprain, wait, wait, wait, air splint, crutches, and home.
After getting my wife situated I dashed to the restaurant down at the end of the block (The Bread Basket), got a pear-walnut-apple salad with chicken and a blackened chicken sandwich with fries, dashed home, fed the bunnies, fed the dogs, fed us, posted my recipe for Carnival of the Recipes (below), and now I’m taking a breather.
I’ll tell you about the fun conversation I had with the proprietress of The Bread Basket some other time.
Sorry to hear about your wife mate, sprains are not fun. I’ve sprained my ankle once or twice, and I know it hurts like hell.
Give her my best wishes for a speedy recovery, and the hope that her hubby will continue to spoil her. 🙂
ankle sprains are of the devil. I’ve been there too many times myself. Hope she’s up and around soon, and kudos to you for being such a nice guy and helping out 🙂
