Tonight’s Debate

I’m seeing tons of unsolicited advice to both candidates on what they need to do or not to do in tonight’s debate. I have found nothing I thought was particularly worthwhile.

Against my reflexes I will probably watch the debate tonight. At least the debate itself. I’ll try to avoid the network commentary to the degree possible.

Anybody have any thoughts?

I think as long as neither candidate falls on his or her face the debate won’t make a great deal of difference and I expect full court presses from various directions claiming that one candidate or another did, in fact, fall on their face.

I like the moderator to ask a question “Do you know how much time viewers spend watching you or your surrogates pitch for money?”

I haven’t donated, but practically every 5 minutes for the past 4 months on Youtube I get told its my last chance to donate before the last “deadline”.

In some ways its worse being in a non-competitive state, all the ads are for money whereas in the swing states, at least there are ads asking for your vote.

I’m hoping there will be a question about the significance of the passage of time.

Seriously, I see Tulsi Gabbard is supposed to be coaching Trump, to the point where that is possible. She’s smart, quick on her feet but she better not give Trump an earpiece like those fools did to Biden.
    Like he’d wear it.

Hmm… why are people turning to food banks when we spend every growing amounts on SNAP benefits? Who are the enemies of the United States?

However, will be watching Don Matteo on MHZ, for is Italian scenery, cultural glimpses, complex theology made simple and a priest who identifies and reconciles the murderer before the Carabinieri arrive.

I will probably watch. I can’t remember the last time I watched a debate, maybe 2008 or 2012. I pretty much know nothing about one of them and I know way too much information about the other. I don’t think their respective situations are at all symmetrical.
