The Next Phase

I believe I’ve mentioned it before but we still have panhandlers on just about every street corner, mostly migrants. That was Phase 1. I think that the cold weather may have motivated what may be the next phase. This week, our first really cold snap, I saw panhandlers going into restaurants and stores and plying their trade there.

Our restaurants and retail trade are still recovering from the lockdowns. Many have closed, some to be replaced with new restaurants or stores, some stand empty, “For Rent” signs on their windows. Panhandlers are about the last thing our restaurants and stores need.

I wonder if the panhandlers realize how much colder it’s going to become here?

You should see Miami. Mostly scammers. Panhandle by the stop light. At the end of the day walk over to your Lexus parked in the strip mall.

In spite of local news exposes they still do it

  • I don’t think they’re actually “scammers”. I think they are being forced to panhandle by the cartels that brought them here to pay off the debt they incurred. That’s why most of the panhandlers are male juveniles or obviously pregnant females. Not as much demand for them in the sex trade.

Perhaps. But most of them I see, and its just Miami, are not female and not young. Most profess to being God fearing victims.

In any event, your observation speaks to the immorality of our border policies. We should not tolerate this.

Agree they are managed by coyotes and won’t be surprized that they turn up later with missing fingers and nose tips to increase their earnings. Frostbite, y’know.

Well, it’s the cartels so nothing can be done, that’s what I heard.
Yes I believe immigrants have been lied to,
and Joe Biden is culpable, cartel coyotes are culpable, commiserating media is culpable.
Go ahead and give them some pocket money for the return trip but they’ll be extorted again.
Hard times, too bad for them.

You must be wrong. Why would you need such a thing as a coyote since the borders are wide open and you can just walk across?
