ABC 7 Chicago reports that Dan Webb has released his report on Cook County States Attorney Kim Foxx’s handling of the Jussie Smollett case:
CHICAGO (WLS) — Special Prosecutor Dan Webb has released his report Monday into the Jussie Smollett’s case and its handling by Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx.
The report said it found evidence of “substantial abuses of discretion and operational failures” on the part of Foxx’s office.
However, Webb said he did not find evidence that would support criminal charges against Foxx or anyone working in her office. Webb also found there was no third party influence in any decision making.
The report says Foxx made false statements about the case and continued to be involved after she had publicly recused herself.
Webb said in his report that after she made her recusal, Foxx and the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office came to the realization that the decision to appoint her assistant Joseph Magats as “Acting State’s Attorney” was “legally defective.”
Webb said Foxx needed to, “recuse the entire CCSAO and petition the court to appoint a special prosecutor. Instead of implementing the proper legal course to carry out the recusal once this defect was brought to their attention, the CCSAO and State’s Attorney Foxx made the decision to ignore this major legal defect seemingly because they did not want to admit that they had made such a major mistake of judgment regarding State’s Attorney Foxx’s recusal.”
The report also said that Foxx made misleading statements on her communications with Jussie Smollett’s sister. Jurnee Smollett. Webb said Foxx learned by February 8, 2019 that Jussie Smollett was a suspect in a Chicago police investigation, but continued communicating with his sister Jurnee through February 13, including five text messages and three phone calls.
Let’s call it like it was. She lied. Those weren’t misleading; they were lies. I could make all sorts of wisecracks about this but I’ll leave it at this. Obviously, following the dictates of the law are for the little people.
She desperately needs to be defeated in her re-election bid in November. I’d vote for a red dog if he were running against Kim Foxx for States Attorney.
Somebody has to speak up for Kim Foxx, sure she lied. Everybody in government lies for their own reasons. She was only looking out for her people, people who look like her. Well, OK, nobody looks like her but you know what I mean. If you want someone to look after your interests, vote for someone from your clan, this is tribal. Don’t expect her to act against her own people.
No, the noose thing wasn’t real, but it could have easily been with all the racists loose in Chi-town, so why not act like it happened, cause it could you know.
One wonders about the Durham investigation. Two tier justice indeed.
But with reactions like Greys, no wonder.
You expected them to indict Obama? Sure, he knew, but the little guy takes the fall. All I can say is I trust Barr. This is probably as far as it goes. They clouds won’t part and justice stream in, not in this world.
Two Legs Good?
More and more it feels like the “little people†are losing everything from legal rights, having due process granted for fair criminal/civil prosecutions, the ability to glean the fruits of their labor, or steer one’s own course in protected waters of self determination. The elongation of this pandemic, and incarceration of it’s populace, seems to have become the democrat elixir that has successfully manipulated and reformatted our social environment through social and news media’s mauling and/or omitting truthful facts and statistics. Consequently, this lopsided advantage has given social progressives passes for abusive behavior (like was practiced by Kim Foxx), and generously greased their skids to implant a once abhorred Marxist agenda into our daily political discourse. Bernie Sanders has even admitted that ideas, once thought of as too radical for America’s political tastes, have now become normalized.
So, what we have currently going for us is a 24/7 siren of fear-mongering running endlessly, causing people to retreat into a bubble of safety, while the very freedoms this country was founded on are being attacked and disappearing before our very eyes. Freedom of speech, freedom to protect yourself or be protected, freedom to assemble for religious services, freedom to have opposing opinions, freedom to form your own neighborhoods (threatened by Biden’s support of AFFH), freedom to educate your children outside of government schools (teacher unions demands to suspend charter schools or school choice) – these, and far more taken-for-granted rights, are either on the chopping block or awaiting to be there, upon the implementation of the Democrat’s platform, almost wholly devised and approved by people like Sanders and AOC.
It’s frightening……
Does Fox have a superior other than the voters? Couldn’t a case be made for unethical or illegal behavior to remove her from office? I’m unfamiliar with Illinois law (or PA law regarding such things for that matter). An investigation into her finances might prove fruitful, many of these activists also seem to be corrupt.
There have been calls for her resignation both by Republicans and Democrats. I presume she could be disbarred which probably wouldn’t help her re-election chances.
Cook County government does not have a hierarchical structure. The Recorder of Deeds, County Clerk, States Attorney and others report only to the voters.

This is what a crisis not going to waste looks like.

Foxx declined to prosecute Juthie
Not because she’s incompetent,
But because she’s Black and so is
he. To her, that’s reparations, they share that they are victims.
She struck a blow for the oppressed.
Obama is above reproach because people like him. They liked PT Barnum too.
