Just one more post about rabbits and I promise I’ll shut up about them for a while. Inspired by a backchannel conversation I’ve been having with Amba, I thought I’d tell you something you may not know about rabbits—even if you have a houserabbit yourself.
Rabbits gambol. It’s a remarkable sight. Suddenly, they’ll launch themselves straight into the air as much as three feet up in a beautiful twisting leap from a standing start. They’re saying “I’m a bunny and I feel great and the world is wonderful.”
And that, my friends, is joy
I’ve seen the move referred to as “bunny binkies” and have used that term to identify a similar maneuver performed by our canine when excited.
