Sunday dinner is my opportunity to have fun with my cooking. My wife isn’t quite as adventurous an eater as I am a cook (although she’s pretty adventurous) and so I aim for tasty, healthy, and familiar during the week. But I allow myself to experiment and go a little farther afield for Sunday dinner.
Here’s what we had tonight:
Roast chicken breast with cumin and black pepper
Basmati rice with saffron, dried sour cherries, and almonds
Tossed green salad with balsamic vinaigrette (and, yes, I make it)
We drank a nice French rosé with the meal: Domaine Longval, a Tavel.
