I read a post earlier today in which the blogger noted that he had written programs in a dozen different programming languages over the years. So I sat down and began to think about it. Here’s the list of programming languages in which I’ve written at least 1,000 lines of code:
- FORTRAN (several dialects)
- COBOL (several dialects)
- ALGOL (several dialects)
- BASIC (at least a half dozen dialects)
- BCPL
- C/C++
- xBase (dBase II, dBase III, dbxl, Foxbase, Foxpro)
- Unix Bourne shell
- PHP
- Javascript
- Java
- Assembly language (CDC 6400, PDP 8, PDP 11, Interdata, DG 16-bit, Intel 4004, HIS Level 6, Z80 etc., Intel 8086 etc., Motorola 68000)
