I believe that he will run, but that his effort will fizzle and yet he will ignore the polls and continue.
It will be uncomfortable for everyone but him,
I think his ego will force him to run. But the Murdochs are out. That was the only potential outlet for major media positive coverage. And most of the vote analysis pundits identify his personality as costing the midterms.
I think he’s toast. Its just whether he decides to do damage with the hard core believers by running.
(BTW – a Naples based fundraiser hostess claims he’s going to surprise and throw his weight behind DeSantis. Been saying it for awhile. I’ll believe it when I see it.)
The best thing Trump could do is to anoint a successor, preferably De Santis, but Cruz would do, too.
I voted for him, in part to stop the monster Hilary. But he proved to be a weak President who could not control his own staff, especially Bolton and Pompeo.
His main achievement was the outing of the federal bureaucracy. DoJ, FBI, DoD, and the intelligence services were shown to be completely politicized, rogue agencies. Our current Attorney General, Garland, is a veritable Himmler.
He runs. Fox will come around as will the other conservative media. Remember that a lot fo them were not real supportive at first but they all came around. The cult has been built up to a point it will be hard to break down quickly. No other Republican running for office could figure out how to respond to Trump’s attacks without offending the Trump fans and who knows if DeSantis has that skill. Trump, OTOH, can say whatever he wants an di tis never held against him by other Republicans.

You are so far in the bubble it is pathetic. When he ran in 2016 there was major resistance but given the GOP primary structure Trump started winning and once he did everyone sucked up. The fact is that just like the past two elections Trump has a solid core who will back him no matter what happens. They relish the awful things Trump says. The story is different for the Republicans who oppose Trump. They have to be careful what they say for fear of offending Trump and his cult members. Any criticism of Trump at all is not tolerated. Its a sign of, what do you call it? TDS. Telling the truth about Trump is an attack and if it turns to hardball then they get to play the victim.
Does Desantis have the skills? No one knows. I found it encouraging that he is willing to support E verify against the business coalition in his own party that shot it down last time. Maybe he does have some skills. OTOH, he is still young and could wait until 2028 when he would be 48 and not risk alienating Trump and his voters. Besides which his campaign stunts, spending state money to fly around immigrants just to own the libs, does not bode well. He has also been all too willing to use his political power to cancel anyone or group that makes statements he disagrees with.
