Candidate stapled by the other guy’s supporters. From WGN TV:
CHICAGO — A candidate for the Illinois House says he was attacked by his opponent’s supporters.
Bob Zwolinski is running for Illinois’ 4th District, against incumbent Cynthia Soto.
He says Sunday night a man and a woman were stapling posters for Soto outside his campaign office Ashland and Chicago in East Ukrainian Village.
Zwolinski says he asked them to stop and that’s when the man punched him in the chest then the woman hit him in the head with a beer bottle and then shot a staple gun at him — leaving him with a staple in his forehead.
Chicago police say Zwolinski has filed a police report and the accused attackers are claiming they are the victims in this case.

Well of course Zwolinski is at fault: he’s a stale pale male running against VIBRANCY. Seriously, can you imagine the damage he could have done to their beer bottles and staple gun with his forehead?

On a more serious note, it would be good to hear if any of the three have criminal records of any type. That wouldn’t be conclusive, but if the other two have clean records and Zwolinski has a history of getting in brawls, then maybe their claim has some merit. And vice versa, of course. I guess the reporting crew was too busy getting their establishing shots to look that stuff up.
Zwolinski as of now has suffered more consequences than the Chicago cops who blew away LaQuan McDonald. I guess he’s not as connected as the cops or Rahm Emanuel, or Rahm’s protectors, Obama and Hillary.
Or black lives don’t really matter to Democrats. Alternatively, I suppose Reynolds’ could convince himself that McDonalds shooters were really Trump supporters…………
What kind of staple gun? The one I have that I use with the compressor has a safety that is difficult to bypass so that you can shoot staples (or nails). The hand stapler I have, which pretty effectively puts staples 1/4 inch into plywood doesn’t shoot well for any distance. Must have had it right in his face.

Maybe it was an assault stapler, steve. Clearly we need more stringent staple gun laws.
I’m going with the theory that there was a second stapler in the grassy knoll. We should get Mulder & Scully on this.
(The Truth used to be about a mile from my mother-in-laws house, but I believe they torn it down and put up some houses during the big boom a decade back.)
