Nothing Up My Sleeve

In his interview with George Stephanopoulos on ABC’s This Week program, in response to Mr. Stephanopoulos’s question about strategies that Democrats might use for improving the lot of middle class Americans, Rep. Ellison, a candidate for the next head of the Democratic National Committee, immediately turned to an increase in the minimum wage.

That’s misdirection. He changed the subject. Definitionally, the minimum wage has nothing to do with middle income Americans. No middle income American earns the minimum wage.

How in the heck are you going to address the concerns of middle income Americans if you don’t know who they are?

When you answer a reasonable question with an irrelevancy, it might be thought you are papering over a hole in your talking points.

Ellison evidently wants the immigration invasion to keep afoot driving wages down.

Me, I pay attention I’m a Teamster which means I work, and work hard and early. I listened to the Democrats words, because my Teamsters leaders sent mail to me to endorse them. They never , ever, once even asked me for my vote. Every time I open my E-Mail Hillary would ask me for a dollar. That was all. I confess , I do not fit in , married to the same woman, (woman), can I say that without being a HATER? for 42 years,(she says 43) , but, no, I’m not Moslem, Gay, Transgendered, or Black. My wife is native american, but that scores no points with dems. My issue is the pension they promised when I put in my years, and my body broke down. Crickets. The Govt. took over Central States Pension Fund, ran it into insolvency by their rules. And>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Crickets!!

Try now to get me to cast a vote for a Democrat.

    O. K. both barrels, I don’t actually know any of you men or how you earn your bread, but I believe wholeheartedly that unions built the middle class by force because of need.
As the unions have been broken, ( not public sector, by the way!), the middle class has died. We will need to find that resolve again, or live as serfs down through the generations. My Grandparents were Slavs, anybody here know what the word means? Thought not.

It’s of unknown derivation although probably related to the Church Slavonic word slovo, a word. The Latin word sclavus, the ultimate source for the word “slave” is thought to be derived from the name of the people (not the other way around).
