Today is my dad’s birthday. Even though he’s been gone for almost a half century I still miss him and he’s been much in my thoughts today. I regret that just as we were beginning to develop an adult relationship he was gone.
I have never found anyone whose opinion was so consistently good since.

Interesting, today’s is my Mom’s birthday. I saw her today.
I don’t know what it is, but that is a really great picture. Plus it reminds me of my Dad quite a bit.
What is he doing with his hands? I can’t figure it out.

I like the picture because it’s a pretty good actual likeness of him. Those are fairly rare because he was almost always on the other side of the camera. That picture was almost certainly taken either by me or my next oldest sibling.
It’s my birthday, too, and I still miss my mom who died young 40 years ago.
