Law, Sausages, and Lawyers

As I read Mark Penn’s list of questions for Robert Mueller at The Hill, it occurred to me that to the list of law and sausages which, as John Godfrey Saxe pointed out 150 years ago, inspire respect in inverse proportion to the scrutiny applied to them, we should add the practice of law. The practice of law may involve some distasteful chores but, since it’s the best alternative for navigating the labyrinths of the law we’ve found to date, it should elicit greater sympathy.

Sympathy? What, for Mueller? Or for his targets?
I could care less about the intricacies of the legal process, what I know is common sense, and it tells me this investigation is political and nothing more. If I were Trump, I would answer no questions, I would fire both Mueller and Rosenstein, and have a special council appointed to look into the “matter” of the previous special council with everyone involved facing the possibility of jail time and loss of swamp career.
