Jack at Westminster Dave Schuler February 25, 2026 I’m ready for my close-up! This picture was taken by Jack’s breeder at Westminster a couple of weeks ago. His handler does a great job in grooming him.
He looks like a well behaved gentleman.
How is Mamie doing?
Don’t be fooled by the picture. He’s the same opinionated, willful, rascally, affectionate Jack he’s always been.
Ghillie and Mamie (our Australian Shepherds) are fine. Mamie has made a smooth transition from opinionated girlboss to crabbie, bitchie old lady.
Ghillie is now my primary walking partner. I miss Jack and look forward to his return.
Is Jack vain? After he competes does he become more entitled? Do you think he’s aware he’s a champion?
No. He’s not more entitled or aware he’s a champion. He loves the process, he loves his people, and he loves the chimkin (chicken–used as a reward).
Does your wife show Ghillie?
My wife handles Ghillie in scent work competitions and, occasionally, agility competitions. She handles Mamie in scent work and obedience competitions. Ghillie gets a little nervous during agility competitions.
