Introducing Pundita

When I was preparing my run-down of blogospheric reactions to the Jeffrey Sachs Time magazine article this morning, I stumbled across a blog I’d never encountered before: Pundita. My emotional reactions on finding a blog like Pundita tend to be mixed: joy at having found a new resource, intrigue that I hadn’t seen it before. Add fatigue: I have a lot of reading to do.

Biographical details are a little sparse on Pundita but I infer that the concierge is a female American possibly residing in the United Kingdom. The blog’s focus is foreign affairs with a special concentration on international development. She appears to believe in democracy, markets, and the limitations of international institutions.

Pundita is clever. Look at a few post titles:

“We’re so glad you enjoyed the G8 luncheon, India and China! With wine and tip that comes to 5 billion dollars.”

“Creatures from the Theoretical Bubble Lagoon”

“Pundita plays Alice to Condoleezza Rice’s Red Queen”

Love it.

So welcome to my blogroll, Pundita. You’re in select company. Expect more attention because I’m going to be pitching you hard to other colleagues.
