The other matter on which I wanted to remark is the attack on author Salman Rushdie in New York. The perpetrator of the attack seems to have been a young man of Lebanese descent, a second generation American. It would be a reasonable guess that he acted in fulfillment of the decades-old fatwa issued against Mr. Rushdie.
I think it was the former German Foreign Minister Joschka Fischer who said “We thought we were getting workers but we were getting peopleâ€. In an early post of mine I documented at substantial length that although immigrants leave much behind when they come to the United States they bring with them customs, cultures, preferences, and prejudices.
Last week a man was arrested in Albuquerque for a rash of murders of Pakistani men. The sense of chagrin when the perpetrator turned out to have been another man of Pakistani origin rather than a white supremacist was nearly palpable.
My point in this post is that with the total percentage of immigrant population at an all-time high we should not be surprised at some of these immigrants or their children acting out sectarian, ethnic, or class grievances they brought with them but are quite foreign to the United States.
And, of course, that not all anti-Muslim or anti-Asian violence in the United State is the activity of white supremacists.
Enoch Powell’s “Rivers of Blood” speech:
https://anth1001.files.wordpress.com/2014/04/enoch-powell_speech.pdf
This was denounced as racist when he gave it, and he was cancelled for it.
There is also Chateau Heartiste’s equation:
“Diversity + Proximity = War”
And of course, there is Robert Putnam’s research that indicates diversity destroys community trust and feeling:

The immigrants of the 19th and early 20th Centuries (pre 1965), were White, European Christians. But there was plenty of trouble with them, because they were Catholic, or Orthodox, or Jewish, and mostly non-Germanic.
Even the Germans were hard to integrate into WASP American, because they were proto-socialists, and not individualists.
European immigrants eventually overwhelmed and sank WASP culture, but the changed country was still White and Christian. The America that is now emerging will be majority non-White, and only partially Christian. Expect large Muslim communities with Muslim ethos and even Sharia law. There will also be a substantial Hindu community. VP Kamala Harris is mostly Hindu/South Asian. Silicon Valley is largely Hindu/South Asian, especially in the upper ranks of the companies there. And there will plenty of Koreans and Chinese.
One of the peculiar features of Hollywood films is that West Coast cities like San Francisco and Los Angeles, and even Seattle, are portrayed as majority White with a substantial black minority. There are few blacks left of the West Coast. They have been ethnically cleansed by the Mexicans and Central Americans. Los Angeles is majority (or nearly so) Hispanic, with a shrinking White minority. San Francisco is majority East Asia, with a White minority.
The large influx of Hispanics, Asians, and Muslims bodes ill for our native black population. The immigrants feel no guilt for black slavery, and many of them despise native blacks. Even black African and Caribbean immigrants look down on native blacks.
The future American will suffer a resurgence of racist antagonism and hatred no matter how many people sign the DEI oaths.
People mostly shoot the people they know, live or work with. So we already knew that “not all anti-Muslim or anti-Asian violence in the United State is the activity of white supremacists.” Yup, if you search hard enough you can find people making that claim but just about as quickly you can find white supremacists saying they should be killed.

Here’s white supremacists killing other white supremacists in nice safe rural Ohio. Like kills like. (Ok, not 100% sure about supremacist part.)

Look at the bright side, bob, at least they have diversity. Its our biggest strength, you know. No idea why, but the leftists sure say it a lot.
And now we have steve, pulling out a bizarre vengeance killing of 8 as evidence of white supremacists running rampant in rural areas killing each other. A once in a lifetime case according to Ohio authorities. Hell, 8 people is a solid 9pm – 3am shift any weekend in Chicago. Oh, and it was a custody dispute, steve, not white supremacists gone wild. Get back to us if you ever have the whim to be honest; I know, an extremely rare event.
Yesterday there was open fighting between the drug cartels in Tijuana for control of the border. The money from drug and weapons smuggling and human trafficking make gang war profitable. The Mexican government has sent 2,000 soldiers to Tijuana to lock it down. The US consulate told Americans in the city to shelter in place.
We have not seen this level of gang warfare yet in America. Not even the Mafia shoot outs of the 1920’s and 30’s reached the level of violence seen yesterday. But the cartels’ power stretches all the way from Colombia to Boston. Someday, Tijuana will be everywhere.
Learn to read Drew. You will say less stupid stuff.

My take is somewhat different from bob sykes’s. Sort of the reverse of the Supreme Court’s. Sheer numbers are important; patterns of residence are important; the percentage of immigrant population is important. The last time we had this large a percentage of immigrants we started the public school system to acculturate the immigrants’ kids, had anti-immigrant riots, and shut down immigration nearly completely for 40 years.
Unlike the ethnic states of Europe we can handle diversity especially to the degree it’s possible to assimilate the new immigrants.
Size is important too.
This is a very big country, most of it unpopulated, or sparsely so.
The Oglala Sioux reservation is enormous, but Mormons or Muslims can easily find room to settle elsewhere without trespass.
I’m not as pessimistic as Bob Sykes, but he is certainly correct that cultures will collide.
IMO third world population growth and resulting border pressure worldwide are the reason and Bill Gates’ disease inoculation initiative is the base cause.
Doing good is of course, good.
But even that has consequences.
