It is a brutally hot day in Chicago. The temperature is around 100°F and the humidity is just a little too high to make it bearable. The sky is that distinctive color that some refer to as brazen. All-in-all it reminds me a lot of the summers when I was growing up in St. Louis. Not as humid, of course.
We’ve got an outdoor wedding to attend this evening. Under any other circumstances we’d be huddled in our air-conditioned living room.
whoa, what fortitude—hope they weren’t serving ice cream! so chicago beat us yesterday at 104 degrees, st. louis was 102. i heard on the radio that a heat emergency has been declared, so keep cool.
the good news is that the day you are planning a trip south (thursday?) is the day the cool front comes in and it should be nice in the mid eighties. can’t wait to see you, janice and the dogs! ann
