Following up on my last post, I think the Hegelian dialectic is widely misunderstood. It is not a process of compromise. When the common truths of thesis and antithesis are reconciled into the synthesis it’s not a compromise. It is a new thesis, both like and unlike the original thesis and antithesis.
If there are common truths to be reconciled in the splintering Republican Party, it’s really not clear to me how that’s going to be accomplished.
The GOP is not “splintering”, so that might be the “root cause” of your many confusions. You would be better served worry about your own Party’s future. Almost all decent, productive, working Americans have been chased out of it.
