I attended a performance by Don Henley at Ravinia. He wasn’t bad for an old guy. I hadn’t been to Ravinia for years. The park was full, most of the people being in lawn seating (lawn seating capacity = 15,000).
I found how the performance was structured interesting. It didn’t consist of sets. Henley would perform a couple of numbers then his group would perform a number with his playing backup and maybe backup vocals.
As you might expect there were a lot of wrinklies in the audience but, surprisingly, there were also a lot of kids.
I got stuck out in overflow parking and hiked the two miles or so from there to the park rather than taking the (free) shuttle bus. Judging by the people walking alongside me not too many wrinklies made that particular choice. Sadly, not too many young people made that choice, either.
