Field Trip

I was called down to Springfield on business today. It will be a long day. Three and a half hours down, spend the day, three and a half hours back.

It’s been a long time since I’ve spent any time in Springfield. It’s got to have been 35 years. I’ve passed through on the way back and forth from St. Louis but never paused to spend any time. This time around my schedule is very full—no time for sightseeing.

The offer of lunch and/or a drink still stands if the opportunity arises again.

Thirty-five years? Probably the biggest sightseeing change would be Frank Lloyd Wright’s “Dana Thomas” house. According to those I’ve spoken with in Taliesin, it’s a very good one. I think the person who hired Wright pretty much gave him carte blanche in the redesign of the home and the interior furniture and art is intact largely through the work Governor Thompson. And it doesn’t leak.

    Commuting sucks.

PD, The Wright house sounds really interesting. We love his creative style!

Dave, you must be very tired.

Not as tired as I expected to be.

Thanks, PD. I’d love to but the drive down-work full day-drive back in one day schedule is brutal.
