There were two fatalities in last night’s riots in Kenosha, the third consecutive night. NBC reports:
Two people were killed and one was injured as shots rang out during protests in Kenosha, Wisconsin, just before midnight Tuesday, according to the city’s police department, amid anger over the police shooting of Jacob Blake, a Black man.
Kenosha police issued a statement early Wednesday morning confirming that two people were dead while another sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries on the third consecutive night of protests. An investigation is underway and the victims’ identities have not yet been released, the statement said; no announcement was made of any arrests.
The sound of gunfire was captured shortly before midnight in a video posted by a reporter for NBC affiliate WTMJ. It was not clear what preceded the shots, who fired or how many people were involved or injured.
In another video shared on Twitter, which has been verified by NBC News, a man can be seen sitting in the middle of a street aiming a gun at people who were running along the road.
One person appeared to attempt to grab the weapon, then a shot was fired and the individual was seen to collapse a few feet from the shooter.
At least one other person appeared to be shot before the shooter got up and started walking down the street.
The video did not make it clear what happened in the moments before it began. NBC News has not confirmed whether the incident is the same shooting described by police.
I believe that unless these riots are ended quickly the situation will get still worse. We’ll have pitched battles in the streets. And it could well grow worse than that.
There is a rumor floating around that Antifas/BLM are planning a large-scale riot in Washington, DC, this weekend. They hope to force a violent response from the feds.
These riots are not about black lives. We have an actual insurrection going on, one that has the full support of local mayors and governors. The run up to the Civil War was like this. John Brown marauded through Kansas before he hit Harpers Ferry. He was actively supported with money by abolitionists in the North, especially Boston.

I’m not sure how they get stopped. This is problem #1:
“I got a call today from congressman who represents that district, and from Senator Johnson as well, really just pleading for help, saying that the local sheriff and the mayor and police chief need some additional assistance,†White House chief of staff Mark Meadows said. “I got on the phone right away and offered assistance in the form of additional National Guard help.â€
Meadows added, “The president was on the phone with the governor today … we have National Guard standing by, and if the general for the National Guard [in Kenosha] needs additional help, we’re there to do it, but today, that request was denied by the governor.â€
Problem #2:
Deafening silence from Biden re BLM, in all likelihood in an effort to avoid offending blacks. Big mistake.
Problem #3:
Continued portrayal in major media as “mostly peaceful” and BLM and Antifa having anything to do with racial justice.
I’m in broad agreement with that. I believe that most black voters are more aligned in their beliefs with Jacob Blake’s family than with the rioters and looters.
Keep in mind that by and large the stores and businesses being destroyed are the ones on which the people in the neighborhood depend. Eventually, rioters, many of whom have don’t live in the neighborhood, will go home. What happens then?
The situation with the sacking of the Magnificent Mile was somewhat different. That was crime full stop, much of it organized or semi-organized.
I watched the 3 videos of Kenosha I could find. The rioters were obviously overwhelmingly white. It is reported they were destroying mostly black owned business. Who knows? But who cares. This is a travesty no matter what or who.
I understand even CNN this morning was saying that Biden needs to come out and disavow BLM and Antifa. I suspect they see the polling reaction. Crass calculus, but they see what any thinking person sees – uncriticized anarchy.
More and more convinced that Blacks are being used here. Plenty of video evidence that white radicals are breaking glass in businesses before the looting starts. They come dressed for battle, armed with hammers, and rather calmly go about the business of breakage and arson. Counting on raw emotion and greed to propel looting. This needs to be exposed, it’s not spontaneous. Is it Antifa? Beats me but we need to know to control this.

I think how we name it is less important than the fact of it.
Not so if they have financing, training, and a command bunker.
The Governor of Wisconsin has not asked and refused offers of federal help.
Under the US system of government; it is his determination that matters in the assessment and response to the problem.
My suggestion to test if “outsiders†of the neighborhood is doing this; cut off mobile internet access to that neighborhood after sunset. If there are outsiders, they would think twice without the internet to coordinate.

C’mon, man.
So Don Lemon, a prominent face of CNN and paragon of virtue, has come out and said the riots must stop………………….because the polls aren’t good.
