Emmett Till’s Grave Desecrated (Updated)

There’s been another development in the Burr Oak Cemetery scandal I posted about yesterday. Emmett Till‘s grave is among those that have been desecrated:

Broken. Rusted. Battered. The image of a glass-covered casket with the body of Emmett Till was shown around the world in the 1950s. But on Thursday, as hundreds of African Americans searched frantically for the graves of love ones, the battered casket of Till was rusting in the back of a shack at Burr Oak Cemetery in Alsip.

The casket was surrounded by garbage and discarded headstones strewn about like litter.

Update

A closer reading of the news reports suggests to me that Emmett Till’s casket was sitting, damaged and neglected, in a shed but that his body had been officially exhumed and re-buried elsewhere.

Those bastards ought to be lynched. To think that it was people of color that did the desecration as well, what has this world come to?

Utter ignorance! I assure you that not only are the accused not educated but they haven’t a clue as to the gross injustice or sheer magnitude of their actions. The importance of their job and the trust bestowed upon them greatly exceeded their comprehension. Honor, Dignaty, Respect are words which illude them. Its ashame that when they pass, more than likely some will truly honor and respect them, something they failed to do for others. No trial necessary, take them off shore and drown their asses!
