I really wish that John Boehner would allow a “clean CR”, i.e. a continuing resolution that funds the PPACA, to come to the floor of the House. If it passes, the will of the people is done. If it doesn’t pass, it removes that talking point from the discussion.
The ideal way for that to happen is if House Democrats could force it to the floor through parliamentary means but I’m skeptical they can bring that about.
As I understand it, the parliamentary maneuver, if successful, would force a vote on a clean CR no earlier than October 28th. I heard this from a Republican Congressman this a.m. who would like to vote for a clean CR, but said he would vote against the parliamentary maneuver as too untimely.
I suppose how one judges that position depends on where one stands. I don’t know where I stand, but I’m no hostage.

Krauthammer has renamed the “clean” CR demand by the dems, to being a “blank check” CR. I think he had it right, in cutting to the chase, that the dems feel they are the majority party and are not to be deterred from their goals or agenda. They simply want the republican House to capitulate, without a whimper of dissent, go on their merry way, entirely foregetting about the fact that the The United States has added two times more debt than wealth in the past two years.
This short commentary sums up what many are already thinking: Obama Crosses The Fairness Line.
I’m all for a clean CR too.
