And While I’m Asking Questions

One of the many questions I don’t see anyone having an answer for is how Palestine will function as a country without one of two things happening. Either

  1. The country will consist of the West Bank only and will be landlocked or
  2. Hamas will retain control of Gaza.

Given a choice between unconditional victory for Israel and unconditional victory for Hamas, IMO the answer is clear. Israeli victory would be better for the United States. Given a choice between unconditional Israeli victory and a Gaza from which Hamas has has been eradicated, I don’t believe the choice is nearly as clear.

Seems pretty clear that the goal is now to eliminate Palestinians from Gaza and I think that is followed by doing the same in the West Bank. Israel had greatly accelerated settlements before 10/7 and if the army doesnt have to worry about Gaza they can concentrate on the West Bank. Not like the rest of the world seems to care much and they have total US support now.

  • And yet the Europeans and Canada are recognizing Palestine.

How much do you really think the Israelis care about the opinions of those countries? AFAICT they have decided that other than maintaining some support from the US they dont really care about anyone else. Face it, those countries arent actually going to do anything against Israel other than maybe say bad things about them.
