A World Gone Mad

Is it my imagination or has the entire world lost its mind? Some people are attacking Trump unjustly; others are defending him unjustly. They do so with equal vehemence. I don’t see how they presently have enough information to do either.

The Washington Post’s announcement of the death of Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi can only be described as unhinged. My religion prohibits me from rejoicing in anyone’s death but he was clearly an unspeakably evil man. He won’t be the last. He won’t even be the last head of DAESH.

I’m seeing a lot of scrambling around by European companies, trying to prepare for a Brexit they aren’t even sure will materialize and whose contours they don’t know.

People are using dangerous drugs to turn their 7 year old boys into girls and, presumably, vice versa. At 7 being curious about your sexuality is normal. Wearing Mommy’s high heels is not a sign of gender dysphoria. One of the most manly young men of my acquaintance ran around in a pink tutu at that age.

Chicago’s teachers have been on strike for eight days. The longest teacher’s strike in Chicago history was, I believe, 19 school days back in 1987. At this point no one appears to be really sure what will resolve the strike. They appear to be striking to prove something to Mayor Lori Lightfoot.

The Washington Post would condemn the eradication of cancer and world peace if Trump brought them. ‘Cuz Orange Man Bad, ‘cuz he’d be violating the emoluments clause. Or something.

The European leaders (not the countries) appear to have believed Tusk’s pronouncement that there would be no Brexit. Now that Johnson is intent on getting Brexit no matter what, and the opposition knows that a referendum revote would only give Johnson a larger margin, the leaders are completely panicking. Tough. Deal with it. You were elected leaders of your countries, not the world.

At a family reunion a couple of years ago a little buy (3-ish) was running round with his arms out shrieking ‘I’m an airplane! I’m an airplane!’ If you’re imagining yourself to be the other sex, it’s called imagination, not belief. It only becomes belief when you become convinced of it, or are persuaded (or browbeaten) into believing that it’s true. The mother of the 7 year old is not even the biological mother of the boy, the eggs came from a surrogate. Munchausen by insanity, I’d call it.

The situation in Chicago is similar to the coal miner’s strike in England in 1984-84. Arthur Scargill wanted to show Maggie Thatcher who was boss. He found out. Lightfoot ought to emulate the Iron Lady. It’s not like the children of Chicago are really missing that much of an education. Unfortunately I don’t think Lightfoot has that kind of backbone in her.

They don’t plan on giving drugs to the 7 yr old now. They want him to socially transition now – wear girl clothes and use a female name. This is to make him think he is female and agree to puberty blockers and cross hormones later. The is not unique. There cases of even younger children.

I don’t think this even the craziest part of the trans movement. I think it is even loonier when men declare they are lesbians and try to get real lesbians to have sex with them and their “girldick”.

    Is that crazy? Or clever?

    Mercer,

As a young man, my male friends and I used to joke about how we were “Lesbians trapped in a man’s body.” I guess it’s not a joke anymore.

Heh. I just got done completing a mandatory state administered sexual harassment training session. It was chock full of fresh insights. Like, no you can’t grab a woman, or a man, or an it, by the arse and ask if she/he/it wants to go to the boom-boom room. Who knew? Sheesh. It was just common sense.

But painfully obvious by the names used, the models in the film, the gratuitous diversity and the inane illustrative dialog……………..the people who generate these are malcontents with way, way too much time on their hands. And further, busy constructing potential hooks to generate complaints. I’m not sure you can say good morning to a co-worker any more. “What did he mean by that? Is he really asking what I did with whom last night? Is he making a pass?”

Its a wonder the country has survived until now……….

“The Washington Post’s announcement of the death of Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi can only be described as unhinged.”

They said he was the head of ISIS. What more did they need to say? Right wing PC. Besides, who has time to get upset over headlines? Some people have way, way too much time on their hands.

“Some people are attacking Trump unjustly; others are defending him unjustly”

I think we should probably pay more attention to his attacking others. He has lowered the standards for personal attacks.

    “It was just common sense.”

Yet we continue to have harassment, sexual and otherwise. Had a guy, not in our group, grab a nurse and shake her when she didnt follow his orders right away. You dont want to hear the sexual harassment stuff. Pretty banal, but common. You would think that if a guy sticks his tongue in someone’s ear w/o asking he might expect trouble, but he still does it. (The good part is when he told her he knew she really wanted it. Some guys have zero insight.)

Baghdadi should have been described for what he was: a torturing murderer and rapist.

    Here you go steve:

Jeffrey Dahmer, reclusive gay activist who expanded the horizons of untraditional culinary experiences dies at 48.

Osama bin Laden, father of 23, killed in home invasion.

Jeffrey Epstein, financier, philanthropist, and mentor to aspiring young women, dies in austere, one room apartment.

” at helm of Islamic State” = torturing murderer and rapist. Low information (IQ?) conservatives just dont know that. The analogies amuse the lowbrow conservative, but they dont fit at all. As I said, right wing political correctness.

Baghdadi oversaw how many innocents who were raped, tortured, blown-up, beheaded? Why then would a news organization lead off their obituary by describing such a person as an austere scholar? The irony of it all is when Trump excoriates someone, this same media reports on him in the vilest of terms. IOW, they treat a psychotic terrorist far more kindly than they treat a POTUS who is politically disliked!

“Why then would a news organization lead off their obituary by describing such a person as an austere scholar? ”

Beats me. I would have just said the head of the Islamic State was killed, which they did say but added that part. Maybe they were trying to contrast him with bin Laden who was a rich boy who actually went out and directly engaged in some killing, at least early on. I never complain about headlines since the people who write them dont write the stories and mostly just try to get people to look at the story.
