I’ve been commenting on the Illinois governor’s race sort of peripatetically. I don’t believe I’ve mentioned that sitting Gov. Bruce Rauner is facing a challenger in the Republican primary, Jeanne Ives. This morning I heard one of her one minute TV spots. For reasons you might be able to discern if you’ve seen the spot which you may watch here if you wish, I don’t care to embed it in my site.
I can only infer that she isn’t going after any crossover votes, either from Democrats or independents. Or maybe she is, hoping to attract enough Democrats who’d rather face her in November than Rauner.
