As they near the end of the second day of the race, the mushers are maintaining a blistering pace. Doug Swingley is in the lead as the leaders pull into Rainy Pass and he’s averaging nearly 10 mph. Going uphill with nothing but the dogs’ muscles, skill, and determination, it’s quite a feat.
