This year’s Halloween was quite unusual as you might imagine. My creative and inventive wife decorated the door of our home for the first time and set up an arrangement by which she could avoid opening the door and maintain social distancing, dropping candy to the few Halloweeners who showed up through a length of PVC.
On my regular afternoon walk with Kara I saw quite a few of my neighbors had set up tables outside their homes, in some cases manning them, in others just leaving them with a sign.
It will be interesting to see if there’s a spike in COVID-19 cases within the next week. I’m guessing if there is one it will be less due to Trick or Treat than to Halloween parties.
Nice decorations!
We didn’t do anything this year – we didn’t even buy candy. Our 10-year-old, for some strange reason, doesn’t like costumes, Halloween, or trick-or-treating. So we turned the lights off and watched the Mandalorian instead.
Awesome contraption from the Mrs.
We didn’t participate in trick ‘r treat this year. Our daughter was opposed and that take out a lot of the energy to do things. We decorated a lot and put out carved jack o’ lanterns, which drew kids to the door even though the lights were out. Our daughter put together a creative sign which seemed to amuse people. We weren’t tricked, at least so far.
It’s over. Relax. Enjoy the kids.
We had quite a few kids. Was a bit surprised but guess I should not have been. I gave out the candy. Put on my PAPR hood and dressed like a space alien.

Halloween is petering out, or changing I guess. This is a college town so the bars were full of adults in costumes. “Hooker“ seemed to be the most popular. Dressed like hookers and wrapped in blankets due to the weather.
The scary part will be getting their Covid test results.
I hope Halloween continues, kids really get a charge Out of It for weeks planning their costumes .
