No News Is Good News

I was visiting my mom in St. Louis over the weekend, something I don’t do nearly frequently enough, and was a bit out of the loop, news-wise. I gather that not a great deal went on over the weekend. Ah well, no news is good news.

My siblings and I are embarked on an epic project to scan the enormous number of family photos, slides, etc. my mom has and distribute copies among us. This weekend I received some early fruits of that labor in the form of a CD containing a number of scanned slides that my dad took. I’ll be posting some of these today and over the period of the next several weeks.

My dad was an excellent amateur photographer. He was a bit more. He was an avid, serious amateur photographer, a member of a club who developed his own pictures both in black and white and in color. I think that some of his pictures, particularly those of his travels, are historic documents and deserve a wider audience so you’ll be seeing them here.

I’ll also post some of the pictures of my mom and dad from sixty years ago. I’m proud of them and want to show them off. Respectful of their privacy I may not post some of the old pictures of my siblings.

You mean the 8th anniversary of 9-11 and 2 million people traveled to Washington DC to protest B. Hussein Obama’s economic rape of America?

    Just wow.
