Sounds Like the Same Old GM to Me

Following up on the news of the day, GM’s exiting of bankruptcy, as I drove around this afternoon I heard an interview on NPR with the executive at GM responsible for customer relations who characterized the challenges that GM has in front of it. As I understood what he was saying, he thought that the American people were just too dumb to realize how much progress GM has made in the last few years.

Does that sound like a strategy that will work to you?

Quite to the contrary I think that what he was saying sounds very much like a guy who’s been so involved with the processes going on within his company that he has little idea of what’s going on outside the company.

And IMO that is the challenge that GM has in front of it.

    Yeah, I heard that interview too and came away with similar feelings.
