The Council Has Spoken!

The Watcher’s Council has announced its picks for the most outstanding posts of the preceding week. The winning Council post was Done With Mirrors’s post, “Contemptible”. This denunciation of film director Brian De Palma for his hit piece on the American military would have been my nomination had I been allowed under the rules to nominate a post other than one of my own. Callimachus at his best. Second place honors went to Right Wing Nut House’s “The War To Remember 9/11”.

The winning non-Council post was SWJ Blog’s “Anatomy of a Tribal Revolt”. I nominated David Kilcullen’s description of the “Anbar Revolt” and I think it makes fascinating reading. Second place honors went to Thoughts by Seawitch’s “The State Which Must Not Be Named”. Have you noticed that in all of the coverage of the anniversary how little was said about Mississippi? Perhaps the experience there didn’t fit into the preferred interpretation of events. These were the posts I voted for and, needless to say, I’m very gratified at this result.

The complete results are here.

If you would like to have your post considered by the Council, the rules for doing so are here.
