Khalid Shaikh Mohammed confesses to practically everything

No word yet on Jimmy Hoffa or Judge Crater. It may be that there’s actionable intelligence in what he’s saying. Somehow I doubt it. I do object strongly to the coercive interrogation to which he’s apparently been subjected. I haven’t even seen claims of exigent circumstances in this case. That’s just wrong.

The U. S. Attorney 8 Scandal continues to unfold.

Sign of an extremely weakened presidency. “Mistakes were made” has become a ritual formulation like mea maxima culpa in the Tridentine Mass.

Clinton will retain U. S. military presence in Iraq if elected.

My immediate reaction was “Duh”. Then relief. Then I was impressed that Ms. Clinton would say the obvious even at potential political cost. Then I wondered whether she were so confident that she doubted there would be a political cost.

I may add more later.
