Take your dog to dinner

Last night my wife, Tally, and I went to dinner at Phil & Lou’s. It was a special occasion: the Chenny Troupe’s 2nd Annual Take Your Dog to Dinner. The Chenny Troupe is a local therapy dog organization and this was a dinner and fund-raiser for the organization as well as a chance for people to have dinner in a nice place with their dogs and to socialize with other people who loved dogs, too. Here my wife and Tally are checking in and confirming our reservation.

This is a little better picture of the entrance to Phil & Lou’s. The staff was very attentive and considerate of both two- and four-legged guests.

Here are some of the guests. I was told that 30 people brought their dogs to the event. I’m not sure how many dogs there were. All were reasonably well-behaved. The dogs, that is.

The dachshund’s name is Olivia. I didn’t catch her friend’s name. Oddly, I think I tell you the names of all of the dogs at adjacent tables and none of the people.

Here is a nicer picture of Olivia. Olivia is an absolutely charming dachshund and, my wife tells me, an extremely skilled therapy dog.

Both people and dogs had a little dinner. My wife had grilled scallops with spinach, apple, and pancetta (left). They were quite delicious. I had grilled salmon with beets, spinach, and balsamic vinegar. Nice. Tally seemed to enjoy her burger very much (right).

My wife and Tally are a real team. I think this picture illustrates the bond between them very nicely. Not to mention the bond between Tally and her burger.

Babe was at the table next to ours. She was very well-behaved and totally charming.
