Catching my eye: morning A through Z

Here’s what’s caught my eye this morning:

  • John Donovan of Argghhh! has the right end of the stick on the ports controversy: concentrate more on the security, less on the ownership.
  • So, who do we offend next?
  • Sad but too true: Microsoft re-designs the iPod packaging.
  • What American city am I?

    You Are Austin

A little bit country, a little bit rock and roll.
You’re totally weird and very proud of it.Artistic and freaky, you still seem to fit in… in your own strange way.Famous Austin residents: Lance Armstrong, Sandra Bullock, Andy Roddick

“Weird and very proud of it”. Sounds about right.

  • Here’s an interesting statistic: the percentage of white teachers in Chicago has increased while the kids they’re teaching have gotten browner.
  • I like posts from which I learn something new and I definitely learned something in this post from Iowahawk in which he combines Black History Month and the start of the drag racing season in a somewhat rare, serious post.

That’s the lot.

  • Bad quiz. I am so not Los Angeles.

I’m Boston; my wife was LA. What does that tell ya?

  • Well, it either tells me that she’s hip and you’re traditional and intellectual or else that it’s a lousy quiz.

You’re quick too. She’s way hip. And I’m not that smart.
