The Council has spoken!

The Watcher’s Council has announced its picks for the most outstanding posts of the preceding week. This week the winning Council post was my own post, Perspectives on Foreign Command of U.S. Forces. The second place post was New Sisyphus’s post, “Misogyny Day”. I don’t learn something new in every post I read but in this one I did.

The non-Council post nominations this week were extremely strong and competitive. Two of the posts were genuine works of scholarship on major newspapers. The winning non-Council post was Patterico’s Pontifications’s critique of errors in The Los Angeles Times, “Patterico’s Los Angeles Dog Trainer Year in Review 2005”. Tied for second place were Protein Wisdom’s post, “We Love the Troops; But It’s a Tough Love (#144)” and MaxedOutMama’s post, “Stuck On Thought”. In fourth place was blog-friend Marc Schulman of American Future’s remarkable analysis of the evolution of editorial opinion of The New York Times on the war in Iraq, “The New York Times On Iraq, 1993-2005 (Part III)”.
