The Joys of Jury Duty

I spent the morning cooling my heels in the jury room of the 4th Circuit Court in Maywood, waiting to be impanelled. I’d been called up for jury duty and last night when I called to verify (as you’re supposed to do) I was told to show up.

Fortunately for me, the two cases that were on the docket postponed and I was sent home before noon (along with the rest of the prospective jurors), secure in the knowledge that I had fulfilled another of my duties as a citizen and wouldn’t be called again for another year or so.
