The Spending/Debt Ceiling Kabuki

How tired I am of the endless grandstanding over taxes, spending, the budget, and the debt ceiling! If the House had a lick of sense, they would put up a big thermometer in the Capitol with a line drawn at the amount of revenue they expected to receive or whatever percentage above that they found acceptable and just stop appropriating when they reached that line. They could go home. Since defense, Social Security, interest on the debt, and federal healthcare spending already amount to just about the amount of revenue we’re taking in, they could go home by the end of February.

It’s all about the grandstanding.

Boy, that’s cutting to the chase!

I’ve been getting all kinds of memos at work this past week telling us the DoD and unit organizational funding priorities. Hard to tell what’s real and what’s a washington monument strategy.
