The Council has spoken!

The Watcher’s Council has announced its picks for the most outstanding posts of the preceding week. This week the winning Council post was The Education Wonk’s post, “America’s Kids and Two Days of Infamy”. The post compares the treatment of the attack on Pearl Harbor by the Japanese in 1941 with the attack on the World Trade Center in 2001. This second place post was New World Man’s post, “George W” which is a treatment of Bush’s presidency in the style of a Shakespeare historic.

The winning non-Council post was Silent Running’s post, “An Open Letter”. The post is an open letter to the governor of Mississippi on the Cory Maye case. Maye is on death row in Mississippi for what does not appear to be murder. The second place post was Florida Cracker’s post, “Living Tribute”. I learned something from the post of which I was unaware: since 9/11 the TSA’s bomb-sniffing dogs have been named for victims of the attacks.

You can find a complete list of the results here.
