The Watcher’s Council has announced its picks for the most outstanding posts of the preceding week. The winner in the Council post category was Wolf Howling’s post, “Judicial Activism Run Amokâ€, for which I voted. Second place honors went to Cheat Seeking Missiles for “Admitting Defeat in the Rhetoric War”, on the implications of President Bush’s shortcomings as a communicator.
The winning non-Council post was Miserable Donuts’s, “After the Charge”, an account with pictures of the blogger’s service in Basra. I voted for this post. Second place honors went to Lone Star Times’s “Obama and Taxes: An Unchanged Liberal Agenda”. It seems to me that the one incontrovertible thing we have learned about Sen. Obama’s view on taxes is that he sees them as primarily a method of social engineering and secondarily a method for raising revenue. I had thought that period was behind us but apparently not.
