The Watcher’s Council has announced its picks for the most outstanding posts of the preceding week. The winning Council post was Rhymes with Right’s post, “Fisking the Obama Speechâ€, one of several Council submissions this week on the speech. Second place honors went to Bookworm Room for Judge Not Lest You Be Judged.
The winning non-Council post was Village Voice’s “David Mamet: Why I Am No Longer a ‘Brain-Dead Liberal’â€. I thought this newspaper op-ed was very interesting and that it’s been widely misinterpreted but that it wasn’t a blog post and, consequently, didn’t get my vote. I did vote for the second-place finisher, though. Second place honors went to Lazer Beams’s “Doron: Story of a True Tzaddik, remarks on the life of one of the yeshiva students killed recently in a terrorist attack. I found it quite touching. The voting was quite close in the non-Council category, suggesting differences of opinion among the Council member.
