The Council Has Spoken!

The Watcher’s Council has announced its picks for the most outstanding posts of the preceding week. The winning Council post was Rhymes with Right’s post, “Fisking the Obama Speech”, one of several Council submissions this week on the speech. Second place honors went to Bookworm Room for “Judge Not Lest You Be Judged”.

The winning non-Council post was Village Voice’s “David Mamet: Why I Am No Longer a ‘Brain-Dead Liberal’”. I thought this newspaper op-ed was very interesting and that it’s been widely misinterpreted but that it wasn’t a blog post and, consequently, didn’t get my vote. I did vote for the second-place finisher, though. Second place honors went to Lazer Beams’s “Doron: Story of a True Tzaddik”, remarks on the life of one of the yeshiva students killed recently in a terrorist attack. I found it quite touching. The voting was quite close in the non-Council category, suggesting differences of opinion among the Council member.

The complete results are here.
