The Council Has Spoken!

The Watcher’s Council has announced its picks for the most outstanding posts of the preceding week. The winning Council post was Joshuapundit’s post, “Guess Where Your President Was Wednesday Morning…Insh’allah”. For second place there was a rare four-way tie which would have been a five-way tie had a non-participation penalty not been imposed on Right Wing Nut House. Apparently, there was a difference of opinion in the Council about each other’s posts this week.

The winning non-Council post was Michael Yon’s post, “Bless the Beasts and Children”. This post is Michael’s account of the discovery of a mass grave in Iraq. It is graphic, jarring, disturbing, and not to be missed. Second place honors went to Small Wars Journal’s post, “Understanding Current Operations in Iraq’”. This post by David Kilcullen is must reading whatever your political position or stance on operations in Iraq.

The complete results are here.

  • As I pointed out to Bookworm Room last week, you’re performing a static analysis. Sure add 2/3 to RightWingNuthouse’s score and you get 1 1/3; however he would have voted too! If he would have voted for any of the #2’s he would have affected their score too!

  • True, Rick might have broken the tie. He also might have voted for Dafydd ab Hugh’s post and made it a six-way tie.
