Should I Watch?

Well, the moment we have all been waiting for or dreading as the case may be is near at hand. The first presidential debate between President Donald Trump and Obama VP Joe Biden.

Should I watch? I’m torn. On the one hand I think it’s a pretty safe bet that we won’t be bowled over by the rhetorical or intellectual heft that will be displayed. Will it be exciting or a snore? I have a fairly limited appetite for frustration.

I don’t have much to say about the significance of the debate. I suspect that neither Donald Trump nor Joe Biden have a great deal to gain from the debate and quite a bit to lose. As far as I can see it’s all downside risk.

Cannot wait for the; “you’re senile”, “No, You Are Senile!”, “YOU ARE SENILE!”.

I wonder if the ratings will be above or below 2016 — my guess is far below.

    You have to watch.
Waiting to read polarized, biased analysis will not give you the real picture of your choice player thinking on his feet.

I don’t plan to watch, but I’m tempted just because I think there’s a much higher risk for some kind of car wreck from one or the other. You’re exactly right this is mainly downside risk.

I don’t wish anyone ill, but the thought of them yelling at each other and then having simultaneous aneurysms has a certain appeal.

  • I tend not to follow firetrucks to watch buildings burn.

The alternative is Matt Taibbi’s drinking game, which he introduces thusly:

“America makes history tonight, as the first ever televised debate between a terminal narcissist and a literal dead person will be held at 9 p.m., moderated by Chris Wallace of Fox News.”

Dont usually watch debates or speeches. Bad ROI. Probably be a Youtube and can put on ultrafast speed if I want to check out parts of it.

I’ll watch. Can’t prepare for a storm if you have no idea one is coming.

After 10 minutes, my wife changed the channel, and I went to bed. Won’t watch another debate ever again.
