Saturdays Are the Hardest

Every Saturday morning when I rose my first thoughts were that I needed to call my mom. Phone conversations every Saturday morning were a decades-old ritual and I could always expect a call from her around 9:00am if I didn’t call her first. We’d talk about what was going on in our lives, what was happening with my siblings or their children, current events, and politics.

Old habits are hard to break. When I rise on Saturday mornings I still wake with the same thoughts. But the call will never come.

David, I am your cousin and the 10th child of Virginia and Charley Harris. I feel your pain. There are so any times that I want to tell Mom something and i have to step back and jus tlook at Heaven and go ahead and tellher. Hang in there.

  • Thanks, Ginny.
