Remember Syria?

It was in all the papers. The fight against DAESH in Syria continues, as reported by ABC News:

U.S.-backed fighters pushed ahead in their offensive in northern Syria Friday, getting closer to a stronghold of the Islamic State group, opposition activists said.

The predominantly Kurdish Syria Democratic Forces took at least four more villages on the way to the IS-held city of Manbij, according to two activist groups, the Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights and the Local Coordination Committee.

On Wednesday SDF fighters, aided by U.S.-led airstrikes, launched their offensive on Manbij, which is on a key supply route linking the Turkish border to the city of Raqqa, the extremist group’s de facto capital.

If the pictures from the combat area are any gauge, the offense against DAESH in Syria is getting increasing support from US “boots on the ground”, too.

Meanwhile, is anyone interested in starting a pool on when the Iraqi Army is going to begin its offensive to retake Mosul? That seems to be proceeding in Friedman Units.

Isn’t Hillary touting Syria as one of her foreign policy triumphs? That gives one pause as to what she might consider a triumph for her own Presidency.
