I almost forgot that today would have been my dad’s 95th birthday. In the picture above he’s standing on the right at a somewhat younger age—I would guess him to be in his late teens or early twenties, at the peak of his vigor and strength. You can click on it for a larger version. As you can see, he was an athlete: a citywide champion tennis and handball player.
This is a picture of him I hadn’t seen, indeed, at an age I’d never seen him in until a few months ago when I received these pictures from a cousin (third cousin, actually—my dad’s cousin’s daughter).
