More on Mira

It’s been a week since Mira died. I don’t know that I appreciated how much I loved her or how much love and joy she brought into the house until after she had died. Now our house is much more solemn, serious place. We miss her.

Mira was born prematurely and struggled for life, all the time with tremendous joy. Now her life has ended prematurely, too. If God needs a dog, he could do no better than Mira. Although He’d better watch his back or she’ll be running the place.

    David,
Today, I remembered how Mira would stand on two legs and put her paws up in the air. It was one of the last things she did for me before you took her upstairs to go to sleep last Friday night. What an amazing, beautiful, and sweet dog. Its still too difficult for me to understand how 5 hours later she could have become so ill so quickly. She was a really special dog.

  • Dave,

My condolences. I can’t imagine how tough it is to lose a dog, let alone 3. I’m sure our pet news readers would share my feelings.

I know that this may be difficult, but if you feel like sharing/writing about caring for a preemie dog and the joys and struggles associated with it, I know that our readers would appreciate such an honest and heartfelt story.

    Regards,
    Ben

  • Dave,

Sincere condolences for your loss. Those of us who live with animals understand how important they are to us, how they refresh our exhausted lives and provide comfort to pains small and large.

Your deep a affection for Mira enabled and expanded her life, much as her love for you enhanced your own.

Peace to her and sympathy and love to you.

  • Oh what a beautiful dog! I’m so sorry that you lost her. I know this is just the lastest in a series for you too, you have my deepest sympathy.
