Missed By That Much

You know, I almost agree with John Grover’s prescription for progress in our issues with North Korea, as expressed at RealClearDefense:

Trump should do what he does best – the unexpected and the unconventional. He once said that under the “right circumstances” he would be “honored” to meet Kim. Where did that Trump go – the one willing to talk things out with world leaders, instead of aimlessly threaten? It would raise the hackles of certain hawks and hardliners, but Trump should invite Kim to Washington and offer to visit Pyongyang in return.

I do think that Trump should invite Kim Jong Un to visit us but I don’t think it should be to Washington, DC. As I’ve suggested in the past, I think they should take a driving tour of the United States, starting in New York and ending in Los Angeles, possibly with a visit to Disneyland.

Unless he is genuinely insane, that should bring an end to Kim’s “reducing to ash” talk. And both of them might learn something about the United States.

And they could see “Can-Can” and ride the Whirling Teacups…..

Let me get this straight. Since President Trump stated that he would be “honored” to meet with Kim-Un, the “crazy fat kid” has not been making threats. He has taken provocative military actions that would result in the end of him, his regime, and N. Korea were he to play his little ‘reindeer games’ with Russia or China, and he damn well knows it.

No, President Trump is the problem. Apparently, he is required to act the patsy. Maybe a bj would calm the “crazy fat kid”. Of course, this is the same crowd who deems him unfit to be president.

OK. I have got it now.

I was trying to think of another example where an enemy leader made such continual threats against an adversary and then followed through. The Japanese? The Germans didn’t advertise their their invasion of Poland. This is blackmail. They’ll never follow through.

Cmon, now. Some bags of money, too. Then he’d be playing 3 dimensional chess……

As I recall, officials of the old USSR came to the US but believed they were being deceived. I suspect that is what Kim would believe. He has too much invested in his belief system to change when confronted with evidence.

  • Which is why I recommend a driving tour. Just flitting around to select destinations is opened to such fraud; a more extensive tour is not.

There’s a reason the Soviets suspected that sort of duplicity: the Russians have a 250 year history of such things.
