For reasons that escape me Jeff Medcalf frequently leaves his best posts as comments on other people’s blogs. Do not miss this tremendous comment at Winds of Change. It deserves a much wider audience. Read it carefully. If you skim it, you may take away from it precisely the opposite conclusion from that which Jeff clearly intends.
